How many times have you taken the chance of participating into English language competitions? Well, in my case I've been in that position plenty of times, 11 years to be honest... 3 of them as a student and 8 years as a teacher and trainer. I believe that making students to enroll themselves in competitions in which their abilities are exposed, is so crucial to make them feel they are really acquiring a foreign language, therefore, public speaking, oratory, spelling bee, poetry and even debates are just great activities for them to perform!

In this sense, the CET comes over. CET means Cervantes English Tournament and it is a 3 day-English language tournament where students coming from all over the region participate into different categories to foster and show their progress in the English language. It was created back on the year 2014 when I was indeed a Teacher-in the making and I needed to gain some money to solve the cost that college-life brings on. (Honestly talking, I had to almost beg to my current boss to believe in this project and thanks God he did)

I couldn't be prouder of what CET has become in the last few years... It went from being a newly-born event to one that has gathered public attention of over 78 schools from the region and more than 4.000 people that have attended it since its very first version.

This 2017, was not an exception... the CET managed to create an undoubtedly great atmosphere where all people had the possibility to enjoy every single hour of it. I don't want to be self-referent but its organization exceeded my very own expectations. For example, this year I decided to stream its red-carpet previous to every competition and it went out pretty well, as most of my guests took the chance and gave their thoughts prior to it. Second, did you notice the photos taken by one of my friends, Miguel? He nailed every shot and made every moment unforgettable and Third, I was definitely blown away by the students performance and the musical guests I had this year, they all gave their best and rocked the stage every day. (Gosh, what a proud teacher I am!)

2018 will bring a bunch of new challenges, dreams and goals to meet and overcome, but one thing is for sure, as long as I keep working towards the appraisal of English language among schools from the place where I live, then everything will be worthy...  I am ready to continue writing new chapters of this unending adventure...

Dedicated to:
All the teachers that have joined me all these years and to my beloved students that never hesitate on taking the risk and to YOU, my only obsession and my supporting brick on every step I take.
